In Colombian legislation, people who enjoy reinforced job stability, due to events or circumstances that affect their health and consequently the normal performance of their usual tasks, find protection in a diversity of normative regulations of international rank and within the internal legal system. precisely within the framework of international standards we can highlight ILO Convention 111 of 1958 on discrimination (employment and occupation) and the "Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 13, 2006, which was approved in Colombia by Law 1346 of 2009. Within the internal Regulatory framework, we can first highlight the so-called Constitutional Block provided for in the Political Constitution, article 53, which allows international legal norms duly ratified by Colombia to form part of the internal legal framework, as well as other constitutional norms that allow the protection of the rights of people with disabilities. Within the Legal Framework, we can consider Law 361 of 1997 as the main one, through which mechanisms for the social integration of people with limitations are established and, in turn, other provisions are issued. Precisely in the first article of the aforementioned law, which is known as the Clopatofsky Law, in honor of its rapporteur, the principles that guide this legal figure are established, all derived from the National Constitution, it is precisely that this law was created with In order to create a social integration of people in a situation of vulnerability due to their physical or mental limitations, the necessary assistance and protection, in the same sense it is worth highlighting the provisions contained in Law 1618 of 2013, through which Provisions are established to guarantee the full exercise of the rights of persons with disabilities.
