Resumen
Objetivo: Describir los resultados del programa de hipertensión arterial en una IPS del régimen subsidiado de la ciudad de Barranquilla-Colombia. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal a una muestra de 360 pacientes obtenidos de una base de datos, con diagnostico actual de hipertensión arterial de los pacientes adscritos en el programa en una IPS de la ciudad de Barranquilla Resultados: Se describe aspectos relacionados con el control de los pacientes hipertensos del seguimiento reportado en la base de datos suministrada por una IPS evaluando así la estructura; evidenciando que de los pacientes hay 254 controlados en su presión arterial que equivale a 70,56%. Conclusión: El género femenino es el grupo con mayor número de registros, en cuanto al sobrepeso éste es un factor de riesgo cardiovascular presente en el grupo de pacientes de la población estudiada.
