The Health System in Colombia is organized in a broad sector of social security in optimization with Law 100, it is promoted and financed by the government as a central body that manages and disposes of the resources which are later distributed by the Ministry of Health to the Health Promoting Entities (EPS) and these in turn hire public or private Service Provider Institutions (IPS) that are in charge of the flow of users. The general objective was to study the composition and development of the health system to subsequently make an approach that would allow knowing the possible social and political impacts on the health service, which was developed based on a structuralist paradigm and a type of analytical research, of present documentary evolutionary design. As a result, it is possible to study the processes of development of the health system in the Colombian territory, evidencing how external factors of a social and political nature alter the development of the health service in territories, as well as the massive liquidation of institutions that provided the services. of health. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the Health System in Colombia is a structure with a weak design, which is unable to respond to the demand of Colombians, a situation that, in certain territories, is aggravated by their precariousness. where Cúcuta stands out as a migratory confluence point.
