Introduction: Heart failure (HF) or also called heart failure is defined in most literatures as the impossibility of the heart to pump blood to the different organs, a situation that is developed by various causes that as they progress, they leave a lesion in the heart. the heart muscle. Objective: To evaluate the results of a follow-up program and healthy lifestyles in patients with heart failure in Barranquilla (Atl, Co) between 2020 and 2021. Methodology: An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out on all the patients enrolled in a follow-up program for patients with heart failure. Data on the main clinical parameters and the Barthel independence scale were collected. The indicators of success of the program were the improvement in the Quality of Life evaluated by EQ-5D and the Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF). The results were measured for central tendency and the results were collected in frequency tables, to compare before and after, a comparison test of means or medians was performed according to the distribution of the data. Results: 84 patients with an average age of 60.3 ± 13.8 years were collected, a difference was found in the proportion of sexes (p: 0.0001), the main cause of heart failure was Dilated etiology (54.8%) followed by Ischemic ( 33.3%). 78.31% of the patients had a moderate Dependence (61 – 90pts). At the beginning of the program, the EQ-5D was 76.5±20.6 and at the end of the program it was 91.3±11.1, this difference being significant (p: 0.0001), as well as the LVEF, at the beginning it was 27.1±11.4 and at the end it was 32.9±11.8 (p: 0.0004). Conclusion: Follow-up programs are beneficial for patients, especially in the functional recovery of the heart muscle and their quality of life.
