Resumen
La presente investigación hace referencia a los factores de personalidad en adultos diabéticos pertenecientes al Club de Diabéticos de la E.S.E del Hospital de Puerto Colombia, Atlántico. La diabetes mellitus es una enfermedad crónica que afecta a muchas personas en el mundo. Esta no solo afecta la salud física del paciente que lo padece; sino que también constituye una condición que requiere cambios en el estilo de vida de las personas, influye notablemente en el funcionamiento psicológico y psicosocial de quienes la padecen. Pennix, Geelings, Deeg, Van Eijk, Van Tilburg & Beekman, (1999).Así mismo la personalidad no es más que el patrón de pensamientos, sentimientos y conductas que presenta una persona y que persiste a lo largo de toda su vida a través de diferentes situaciones (Catell, 1965)
La evaluación se llevó a cabo con 20 sujetos conformado por 7 hombres y 13 mujeres, diagnosticados con Diabetes Mellitus Tipo I, todos habitantes del municipio de Puerto Colombia, Atlántico, con un rango de 33 a 75 años de edad, y todos sujetos a tratamiento medico, basado en Hipoglucemiantes orales con diversas dosis. Los cuales se mostraron como sujetos con una buena capacidad de expresar constante sus conflictos
psicológicos y emocionales, igualmente reflejaron falta de ausencia en depresión, como también buenos rasgos sociables, así mismo presentan sumisión, son razonables, íntegros, responsables, equilibrados, con buena productividad y humildad.

Which showed up like subjects with a good capability to express his psychological and emotional conflicts constantly, equally reflected lack of absence in depression, like also good sociable features, likewise present submission, are reasonable, whole, responsible, balanced, with good productivity and humility.
