This study analyzes the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS) in companies through a documentary approach. OSHMS are fundamental to ensure safe work environments, prevent accidents and illnesses, and improve the quality of life of workers. Through the review of standards such as ISO 45001 and local legislation, practices, barriers and benefits associated with their implementation are identified. Among the most common obstacles are budgetary limitations, resistance to change and lack of preventive culture. On the other hand, benefits such as accident reduction, increased productivity and improved corporate image are highlighted. This analysis includes case studies that demonstrate good practices and challenges, showing how companies that prioritize safety manage to integrate occupational risk management into their organizational structure. In conclusion, implementing OSHMS requires management commitment, employee participation and adaptation to regulations and advances in risk management. The research highlights the need for an organizational culture that values safety and health as an essential part of business performance.
