Resumen
Cuerno (2013) hace referencia a que el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas no es un tema reciente, ha acontecido a lo largo de la historia, hay muchos estudios que han demostrado que su uso más no el abuso de las drogas han sido utilizado como un poder curativo o siendo una forma de socialización. Seguidamente la historia del consumo de sustancias psicoactivas por el ser humano fueron descubiertas por pueblos autóctonos siendo entonces parte de nuestra cultura.
Hay registros de diferentes prácticas con respecto a la utilización de sustancias que alteran la mente o que son embriagantes realizadas por muchos siglos. La misma autora rescata que las sustancias psicoactivas han sido utilizadas por brujos, sacerdotes con la finalidad de que puedan desarrollar actividades religiosas, como, por ejemplo, profetizar, sanar enfermos, invocar espíritus, como también adivinar. A modo de ejemplificación, la historia ha mencionado que en regiones de los altiplanos como Perú y Bolivia para disminuir el hambre y
cansancio mastican hojas de coca entre otros alcaloides. También se ha afirmado que en la época de la conquista el consumo de las diferentes plantas han gozado de invaluable prestigio por lo que los conquistadores quisieron sacar provecho 14 de ello, ya que apreciaban que los efectos hacían que el indígena trabajara con menos inversión puesto que como se inhibe el hambre en ellos, se gastaba mucho menos en su alimentación.
A efectos de mencionar algunas sustancias psicoactivas, la autora Cuerno (2013) hace referencia a la cocaína siendo un alcaloide que se extrae de la hoja de la coca y es una plata que ha crecido en Sudamérica, esta sustancia al igual que las anfetaminas han sido un estimulante para el sistema nervioso. Seguidamente, en México ha sido normal la utilización de hongos alucinógenos ya que genera que se pueda llegar al yo interior y hace tener experiencias con otros seres, con la finalidad de que se encuentren respuestas a diferentes dudas, sin embargo, los viajes han sido guiados por elegidos de la comunidad siendo guías para encontrarse con otro lado del ser.

Subsequently, the history of the consumption of psychoactive substances by human beings was discovered by indigenous peoples, thus being part of our culture. There are records of different practices regarding the use of mind-altering or intoxicating substances carried out for many centuries. The same author notes that psychoactive substances have been used by sorcerers and priests so that they can carry out religious activities, such as, for example, prophesying, healing the sick, invoking spirits, as well as guessing. As an example, history has mentioned that in highland regions such as Peru and Bolivia, to reduce hunger and tired, they chew coca leaves among other alkaloids. It has also been affirmed that at the time of the conquest, the consumption of the different plants enjoyed invaluable prestige, which is why the conquerors wanted to take advantage of it, since they appreciated that the effects made the indigenous people work with less investment since as hunger is inhibited in them, much less was spent on their food. In order to mention some psychoactive substances, the author Cuerno (2013) refers to cocaine, being an alkaloid that is extracted from the coca leaf and is a silver that has grown in South America, this substance, like amphetamines, has been a stimulant for the nervous system.
