Resumen
El alcohol es una sustancia que ha generado alto impacto en la salud pública y daños cognitivos. El objetivo es describir las diferencias existentes en el desempeño cognitivo, de estudiantes universitarios según el grado de consumo de alcohol. Por lo cual, se realizó un estudio descriptivo-comparativo, de corte transversal con 43 estudiantes universitarios divido en tres grupos según el patrón de consumo. Se implementó el AUDIT y un protocolo neuropsicológico. No se evidenciaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los distintos grados de consumo en la población de adultos jóvenes, a excepción de la memoria de trabajo en la ejecución de la sub-prueba de dígitos progresivos, donde se evidencia mejor rendimiento en los estudiantes abstemios, por tal motivo se sugiere en próximas investigaciones evaluar con pruebas de validez ecológicas para denotar cambios de su vida diaria.
