During the year 2016 in Colombia, 2,059 people with hemophilia were reported to the Cuenta de alto costo, being less the information about this desease at Barranquilla specifically. Due to this, we have a general objective: Determine the prevalence of hemophilia A and B in a Barranquilla's IPS, since January 2015 to December 2016. To achieve this goal we apply a survey to 121 patients diagnosed with hemophilia A and B who attended to the IPS during the study time. As a result, we had 79% men and 21% women, the majority of patients were 11-20 years old (28%). 59% of the patients were diagnosed with mild hemophilia A. As prevalence of the disease in a Barranquilla's IPS, we obtained that it was 16.9%. We conclude that it is a high prevalence with respect to the high cost account, taking into account that to reach this, we use the total population attended in the health care institution.
