sostenible a largo plazo.
The use of psychoactive substances (PAS) among young people in Colombia represents a critical challenge for both society and the public health system. This increasingly prevalent phenomenon not only directly affects the physical and mental health of young people, but also impacts their personal, academic and professional development. To understand this problem, a positivist, quantitative approach was used, with a cross-sectional correlational descriptive design. The research used two instruments: the ASSIST (Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test), to assess the level of substance use, and the Satisfaction with Life Questionnaire (SWLS), to measure the perception of subjective well-being. The data analysis indicated a statistically significant correlation between the use of psychoactive substances (PAS) and life satisfaction. In the sample analyzed, it was identified that a higher consumption of PAS is related to higher levels of life satisfaction at the time of the study. This result can be interpreted as a possible influence of PAS on the temporary perception of well-being, which does not necessarily imply a state of comprehensive or sustainable well-being in the long term. In conclusion, this study identified a correlation between marijuana use and higher levels of momentary satisfaction in young adults in Cúcuta, suggesting that consumption could provide temporary relief.
