Objective: To determine the frequency of antibodies against T.- pallidum and describe risk factors for syphilis in HIV patients in an IPS of Barranquilla - Atlantic during 2014 and 2015. Materials and methods: An epidemiologic, observational, descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional, was performed using a non-probabilistic convenience sample where 20 patients diagnosed with HIV at a hospital in third level of complexity of the city of Barranquilla were selected. lgM / lgG was detected against T. pallidum using the diagnostic kit SD BIOLINE Syphilis 3.0 and additionally a survey that included sociodemographic variables of type, clinical and applied risk behaviors. Results: 75% of patients were men and the remaining 25% women, mean age 40.5 years. These they are residing in Barranquilla (60%), Soledad (25%), Sabanagrande (10%) and Puerto Colombia (5%). 55% of patients expressed lgM / lgG against T. pallidum. History of gonorrhea in 30% of the population, 15% of herpes and 5% was found hepatitis B.
