Forced labor is a form of labor exploitation that can have serious consequences for people's physical and mental health. Forced labor involves working without consent, under threat, coercion, or deceit, and often involves long working hours, low wages, and dangerous working conditions. In terms of physical health, forced labor can lead to workrelated injuries and illnesses, such as musculoskeletal injuries, respiratory problems, and infectious diseases. In addition, dangerous working conditions can increase the risk of serious accidents at work. In terms of mental health, forced labor can have long-term detrimental effects, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and other mental health problems. Lack of control over the work environment, lack of social support and a feeling of being trapped in an exploitative situation can have a significant impact on people's mental health. Colombia is a country with one of the highest rates of social inequality in the continent and one of its many causes is the scarcity of decent and well-paid employment. However, the remuneration offers in the private sector - which is where there are more vacancies - are low and sometimes, the contractual conditions are not the best since in recent years, types of contracts such as "work work" or "Order for Provision of Services", are the most used. In line with the above, and due to ignorance of the law, people who accept this type of contract, in most cases, end up with effects on their health physical and/or mental due to the forced labor to which they are subjected.
