Objectives: To determine the prevalence of metabolic syndrome components in patients at The Caribbean Endocrine lnstitute. Design: A descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study, lnstitution: Caribbean endocrinological center, located north of the city of Barranquilla. lnterventions: Data were taken from the medica! records of the patients in this center served between 2011 and 2013, which took into account; blood glucose, age, sex, waist circumference, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and body mass index (BMI) variables.
