Resumen
Objetivos: Determinar la prevalencia de dolor lumbar en trabajadores de una
empresa del sector hidrocarburos en el distrito de Barranquilla
Materiales y Métodos: Estudio descriptivo de corte transversal, aplicado a una
población de 100 trabajadores administrativos y operativos de una empresa del
sector hidrocarburos en el distrito de Barranquilla, se evaluaron las características
de la población: Edad, sexo, percepción de salud, nivel educativo, estado civil, IMC,
estrato, prevalencia de molestias musculoesqueléticas, frecuencias de molestias en
espalda y cadera, relación entre las molestias y el IMC, por último, el número de
horas sentado por semana. La prevalencia de dolor lumbar y molestias
musculoesqueléticas, se analizaron mediante el cuestionario Nórdico de Kuorinka
que permitió evaluar la región corporal de la zona baja de columna.
Resultados: La población mayoritaria son hombres en su totalidad, los cuales sus
edades oscilan entre 30 a mayor de 60 años, su percepción de salud, es buena con
un 56%, con un pequeño porcentaje del 30% siendo su salud regular, el nivel
educativo que presentan es secundaria completa o incompleta con un 71%, del
mismo modo solo el 21% completo la primaria, de esta población el 40% está en
Unión libre y pertenecen en gran nivel al estrato 3, el sobrepeso es una
característica relevante de estos trabajadores con un 50%, por ende 36 de estos
empleadores presentan molestias en espalda baja, en los últimos 12 meses 7
individuos , mientras que en los últimos 7 días 31 personas, solo una persona
presenta molestia en cadera, seguido de la obesidad con un 37%, 26 personas
presentan molestias en espalda baja, en los últimos 12 meses solo 7 laboradores y
en los últimos siete días 25 empleadores, con respecto a su frecuencia de padecer
molestias musculoesqueléticas, está comunidad el 70% presenta molestia en
espalda baja, entre los cuales en los últimos 12 meses el 14% presenta molestia en
espalda baja y con respecto a los últimos siete día, manifiestan el 61%.
Conclusiones: El dolor lumbar que presentan los individuos participantes se debe
a que la mayoría de la población se encuentra en sobrepeso y obesidad y además
permanecen muchas horas sentados.
