Resumen
En la actualidad el termino mortalidad materna extrema ha tenido un crecimiento durante los últimos años en la mayoría de sistemas de salud pública del mundo. A pesar de que en Colombia se han realizado múltiples avances para eliminar las barreras de atención y disminuir el número de casos de MME, aún perdura el problema en muchas de nuestras pacientes gestante aumentando la estancia hospitalaria y el desenlace materno-perinatal desfavorable. Por lo cual este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar los factores de riesgo asociados a la morbilidad materna extrema a través de una metodología descriptiva retrospectiva de corte transversal de las pacientes gestantes que asistieron al Camino Universitario Distrital Adelita de Char de Mired Barranquilla IPS. Los resultados obtenidos encontramos una frecuencia del 70.1% del total de la población que presentaron morbilidad materna extrema. Los factores de riesgo asociados al desarrollo de MME en nuestra población fue el lugar de residencia (departamento del Atlántico) y la pertenecer al régimen de seguridad social contributivo.
Currently, the term extreme maternal mortality has grown in recent years in most public health systems in the world. Despite the fact that multiple advances have been made in Colombia to eliminate barriers to care and reduce the number of cases of MME, the problem still persists in many of our pregnant patients, increasing hospital stays and unfavorable maternal-perinatal outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the risk factors associated with extreme maternal morbidity through a retrospective cross-sectional descriptive methodology of pregnant patients who attended the Camino Universitario Distrital Adelita de Char de Mired Barranquilla IPS. The results obtained found a frequency of 70.1% of the total population that presented extreme maternal morbidity. The risk factors associated with the development of SMM in our population were the place of residence (Department of Atlantico) and belonging to the contributory social security system.
