Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar los factores asociados a la cultura de seguridad del paciente en los profesionales de la salud.
Materiales y Método: Estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en trabajadores de instituciones prestadoras de la salud de la ciudad de Barranquilla, Colombia. Se aplicó el cuestionario para medir la cultura de seguridad del paciente en los profesionales de la salud.
Resultados: Se evidencia que en las instituciones prestadoras de servicio está muy de acuerdo que atiende con prisa al paciente, al igual que percibe que el centro tiene demasiados pacientes para hacer frente a todo de forma eficiente. También las instituciones buscan la manera de prevenir los errores para que no vuelvan a ocurrir; los encuestados consideran que los responsables de su centro dan prioridad a los procesos relacionados con la mejora de la atención a los pacientes. Sin embargo el personal percibe que los responsables de su centro no están invirtiendo suficientes recursos para mejorar la calidad asistencial en este centro de salud. Los profesiones de la salud ofrece excelente calidad asistencial a todos los individuos con independencia de su sexo, raza, etnia, nivel socioeconómico, idioma, etc.
Conclusiones: Se evidencio que las instituciones prestadoras de servicio en salud desconocen la adherencia de la cultura de seguridad en el personal asistencial. También se encontró que la falta de controles o seguimientos a las políticas de seguridad del paciente; permitiendo que aumenten los sesgos cognitivos como el «error fundamental de atribución»; limitando el acceso a la información que se tenga.
Objective: To determine the factors associated with the culture of patient safety in health professionals. Materials and Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study in workers of health care institutions in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. The survey was applied to know the culture of patient safety in health professionals. Results: It is evident that in the institutions that provide the service, it is very much in agreement that he takes care of the patient in a hurry, just as he perceives that the center has too many patients to deal with everything efficiently. Institutions are also looking for ways to prevent mistakes so that they do not happen again; Respondents believe that those responsible for their center give priority to processes related to improving patient care. However, staff perceives that those responsible for their center are not investing enough resources to improve the quality of care in this health center. Health professions offer excellent quality of care to all individuals regardless of their sex, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language, etc. Conclusions: It was evidenced that the institutions providing health service are unaware of the adherence of the safety culture in healthcare personnel. It was also found that the lack of controls or follow-up to patient safety policies; allowing cognitive biases to increase as the "fundamental attribution error"; limiting access to the information you have.
