Resumen
La finalidad de esta investigación fue conocer cuál es la actitud hacia el enamoramiento tardío en personas mayores. Para tal propósito se seleccionó una población de 61 adultos mayores pertenecientes a la Fundación una Luz en el Camino de la ciudad de Barranquilla, de la cual se obtuvo una muestra aleatoria, utilizando el azar simple de 30 personas. La investigación utilizó una escala tipo Likert, que en 26 reactivos evalúan el continuo del hecho social en sus dimensiones cognitivas, afectivas y conductuales.
Dentro de los resultados, los análisis estadísticos mostraron que la actitud hacia el enamoramiento tardío es favorable, aportando un porcentaje de 58.7 % de aprobación, admisible frente a un porcentaje de 41. 2 % de desaprobación de la población. Cualitativamente, lo anterior se evidencia de manera paralela, a la manifestación de preocupación por estar o quedarse solos, no ser aceptados, además que necesitan estima, seguridad, comunicación, tolerancia para mantener sus relaciones; se muestran dependientes emocionalmente, lo que les hace creer y sentir que mejora su condición y calidad de vida.
En conclusión las conceptualizaciones del amor, según el autor guía Carmen Delia Sánchez; son medios fundamentales que construyen una realidad para que las personas puedan comprender su vida y sus relaciones. La realidad que refleja una ideología dominante en cuanto esta etapa de amor es un asunto que llega en forma
tardía, cubierto de nostalgia y tristeza por lo que no se dijo o no se hizo en un contexto de enfermedades severas o con dificultades de expresarse afectivamente.

Qualitatively, this is evidenced in parallel, the expression of concern about being left alone or not being accepted, also need estimates, security, communication, tolerance to maintain their relationships, become dependent emotionally, making them believe and feel that improves their condition and quality of life. In conclusion conceptualizations of love, according to the author Carmen Delia Sánchez guide, are essential means to construct a reality for people to understand their life and relationships. The reality that reflects a dominant ideology in this stage of love is a matter that comes in late, covered with nostalgia and sadness for what is not said or not done in a context of severe illness or hard to express themselves emotionally
