This study analyzes the impact of offender profiling from forensic psychology on the prevention of homicidal behavior. It uses a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques to classify homicidal behavior profiles, identify the homicidal profile using Robert Hare’s PCL-R test, and establish profiling factors to prevent crimes in the prison population. The research involves individuals with a history of homicide and forensic professionals, employing semi-structured interviews and standardized questionnaires. The findings revealed significant patterns in the motivation and behavior of offenders, highlighting the importance of psychological, social, and biological factors in understanding and preventing criminal behavior. The profiling identified common characteristics among offenders, providing valuable information to develop more effective and personalized prevention strategies. The study concludes that a deep understanding of forensic psychology and offender profiling is essential for improving prevention and treatment practices in the criminal justice system. It emphasizes the need for an interdisciplinary approach that integrates psychology, criminology, and law, while maintaining rigorous ethical standards in forensic research. The study argues that continuous exploration of criminal behavior is essential to advancing public safety and social justice, laying the foundation for future research and policies in this critical field.
