Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación se analizaron los estilos de liderazgo y como influyen en el desempeño laboral de los trabajadores del sector comercial de Barranquilla, reconociendo que este sector es uno de los más dinámicos y competitivos de la ciudad y como la gestión del talento humano juega un papel fundamental en la productividad y la calidad del servicio. El estudio surge de la necesidad de comprender cómo los estilos de liderazgo impactan en la motivación, el compromiso organizacional, la comunicación, el clima laboral y la productividad, factores determinantes para el logro de los objetivos y metas empresariales. Para ello se desarrolló una investigación bajo un enfoque cualitativo mediante una revisión documental sistemática, utilizando fuentes académicas de bases de datos como Scopus, Google Scholar, repositorios institucionales y literatura especializada en liderazgo y gestión humana. Se emplearon criterios de inclusión relacionados con actualidad, pertinencia temática, enfoque organizacional y validez académica, lo que permitió seleccionar artículos científicos, tesis y libros que abordan la relación entre liderazgo y desempeño laboral desde diversas perspectivas y contextos. La sistematización de la información incluyó matrices de contenido que facilitaron el análisis comparativo entre estudios nacionales e internacionales, fortaleciendo la comprensión del fenómeno en entornos comerciales y permitiendo identificar tendencias, coincidencias y vacíos investigativos. Los hallazgos revelan que los estilos de liderazgo transformacional y democrático son los predominantes en los estudios revisados y los que presentan mayor impacto positivo en ambientes comerciales.
This research analyzes leadership styles and their influence on the job performance of employees in the commercial sector of Barranquilla. This sector is recognized as one of the most dynamic and competitive in the city, and human talent management plays a fundamental role in productivity and service quality. The study stems from the need to understand how leadership styles impact motivation, organizational commitment, communication, work climate, and productivity—key factors for achieving business objectives and goals. To this end, a qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing a systematic document review of academic sources from databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar, institutional repositories, and specialized literature on leadership and human resource management. Inclusion criteria included currency, thematic relevance, organizational focus, and academic validity, allowing for the selection of scientific articles, theses, and books that address the relationship between leadership and job performance from diverse perspectives and contexts. The systematization of information included content matrices that facilitated comparative analysis between national and international studies, strengthening the understanding of the phenomenon in business environments and allowing for the identification of trends, commonalities, and research gaps. The findings reveal that transformational and democratic leadership styles are predominant in the reviewed studies and have the greatest positive impact in business environments.
