The quality of sleep is usually evaluated depending on the hours of sleep that is destined to rest, its efficiency and the alterations that the subject may be presenting, so there is usually a relationship between sleep processes and the mood of a person. In the present article we intend to identify if there is a relationship between the mood state depression-joy and the subjective quality of sleep in a sample of 573 students of the Psychology program of the Universidad Simón Bolívar Cúcuta-Colombia, distributed among 105 male and 468 female students, where the Cognition, Emotion and Behavior (CEC) scale and the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (ICSP) were applied digitally, from a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design of correlational type. Among the results obtained, it was identified that for this study there are no significant results between the Depression/Happiness index of the CEC-2 scale and the Pittsburg Index, there is no identical significance attributable to sex, so this would indicate that it is possible that at lower sleep quality there may be sleep disturbances, as well as the hours of sleep that meet similar characteristics suggesting that having less hours of sleep would alter the quality of sleep. Sleep disturbances are also inversely correlated with the quality of sleep, apparently understanding that the lower the quality of sleep, the more sleep disturbances could be present.
