One of the biggest challenges facing the country in this aspect is the availability of hospital beds for the population, a situation that was evidenced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Objective: To evaluate the installed capacity of hospital beds in Health Service Provider Institutions by regions of Colombia according to the Special Registry of Health Service Providers from 2018 to 2023. Methodology: A retrospective, analytical, longitudinal field study was carried out. The information reported in the Special Registry of Health Service Providers between 2018 and 2023 was taken into account. Comparisons of readiness were made by year and by regions of Colombia. Statistical analyses were performed in R-CRAN and had a significance with p-value of <0.05 and with alpha of at least 95%. According to the data from the Special Registry of Health Service Providers, the system will be unsustainable in the next decade, as growth coefficients have been negative, and some have even disappeared in some regions of Colombia before 2023.
