Resumen
La necesidad de estudiar este tema radica en los desafíos específicos que enfrenta el sector turístico en Colombia. Factores como la mejora de la infraestructura, la garantía de seguridad, la formación de personal capacitado y la promoción efectiva de los destinos turísticos son esenciales para consolidar la competitividad del país en el mercado internacional. Además, la reciente pandemia de COVID-19 ha alterado profundamente el panorama turístico global, subrayando la urgencia de adaptar y reforzar el sector para enfrentar futuras contingencias. Una investigación detallada proporcionará información crítica para abordar estos desafíos y preparar al sector para un futuro más resiliente.
En función a lo anterior esta investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar los principales retos y oportunidades que enfrenta el turismo en Colombia, y para ello se definieron las principales tendencias en la investigación sobre este tema, se caracterizaron las causas del bajo índice de ocupación turística y se identificaron las oportunidades con las que cuenta el país en este campo.
Este estudio se llevó a cabo a través de una investigación cualitativa, bajo un paradigma histórico hermenéutico y la técnica utilizada fue el análisis documental, lo cual permitió llegar a la conclusión de que los estudios han mostrado un panorama desalentador en términos económicos y sociales acerca de este y sus desventajas con otros sitios turísticos del mundo, se muestra igualmente que las diferentes entidades u organizaciones turísticas vienen trabajando en pro de cambiar ese panorama y darle visibilidad a la diversidad turística que existe en este país,
apoyándose de las diferentes estrategias de marketing que se han implementado para este tipo de negocio al igual que las distintas plataformas digitales y redes sociales que en la actualidad hacen un importante trabajo en cuanto a promoción y desarrollo del turismo en general.
The need to study this topic lies in the specific challenges faced by the tourism sector in Colombia. Factors such as improving infrastructure, guaranteeing security, training trained personnel and effectively promoting tourist destinations are essential to consolidate the country's competitiveness in the international market. Furthermore, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly altered the global tourism landscape, underscoring the urgency of adapting and strengthening the sector to face future contingencies. Detailed research will provide critical information to address these challenges and prepare the sector for a more resilient future. Based on the above, this research aimed to identify the main challenges and opportunities faced by tourism in Colombia, and to do so, the main trends in research on this topic were defined, the causes of the low tourist occupancy rate were characterized and They identified the opportunities that the country has in this field. This was carried out through qualitative research, under a historical hermeneutic paradigm and the technique used was documentary analysis. Which allowed us to reach the conclusion that the studies have shown a discouraging panorama in economic and social terms about this and its disadvantages with other tourist sites in the world, it is also shown that the different tourist entities or organizations have been working to change that panorama and give visibility to the tourist diversity that exists in this beautiful country, relying on the different marketing strategies that have been implemented for this type of business as well as the different digital platforms and social networks that currently do important work. in terms of promotion and development of tourism in general.
