Clima laboral y su influencia en los niveles de estrés en los trabajadores del sector industrial de las empresas de Barranquilla

Resumen
El presente estudio tuvo como propósito analizar la influencia del clima laboral en los niveles
de estrés de los trabajadores pertenecientes a las empresas del sector industrial de la ciudad
de Barranquilla. Este sector se caracteriza por un alto nivel de competitividad, exigencias
productivas constantes, implementación continua de nuevas tecnologías, así como jornadas
extensas y una fuerte presión por el cumplimiento de metas. Estas condiciones propias del
entorno industrial no solo afectan la dinámica organizacional, sino que también influyen
directamente en la percepción que los empleados construyen sobre su clima laboral y, por
consiguiente, en los niveles de estrés que experimentan de manera cotidiana. En este
contexto, el estrés laboral se reconoce como una problemática de creciente importancia,
debido a sus repercusiones físicas, psicológicas y emocionales. Cuando las exigencias del
trabajo superan las capacidades, recursos o disponibilidad de los empleados, aparecen
síntomas como agotamiento, irritabilidad, disminución del rendimiento y dificultades para
desconectarse al finalizar la jornada. Factores como la sobrecarga de funciones, la presión
laboral y la falta de apoyo por parte de los jefes o compañeros incrementan de forma
considerable la vulnerabilidad al estrés. Por otro lado, el clima laboral, entendido como el
conjunto de percepciones que los trabajadores tienen sobre el ambiente organizacional, los
estilos de liderazgo, la comunicación interna y las relaciones interpersonales, constituye un
elemento clave en la definición del bienestar laboral. Un clima negativo genera tensiones,
conflictos e insatisfacción, mientras que un clima positivo favorece la motivación, la
cohesión y la disminución del estrés logrando que los empleados se sientan felices. El estudio
se abordó desde un enfoque cuantitativo, lo que permitió describir de manera objetiva tanto
el clima laboral como los niveles de estrés presentes entre los trabajadores de la empresa
Alutions 1. Asimismo, se empleó un diseño correlacional con el fin de determinar la relación
entre ambas variables mediante el uso de técnicas estadísticas que facilitaron la interpretación
de los datos y la identificación de patrones relevantes
The present study aimed to analyze the influence of workplace climate on stress levels among employees working in industrial-sector companies in the city of Barranquilla. This sector is characterized by high competitiveness, constant production demands, continuous implementation of new technologies, long working hours, and strong pressure to meet organizational goals. These conditions, inherent to the industrial environment, not only affect organizational dynamics but also shape employees’ perceptions of their work climate and, consequently, the levels of stress they experience on a daily basis. In this context, workrelated stress is recognized as an issue of growing importance due to its physical, psychological, and emotional consequences. When job demands exceed employees’ capacities, resources, or available time, symptoms such as exhaustion, irritability, decreased performance, and difficulties disconnecting after the workday tend to emerge. Factors such as work overload, performance pressure, and lack of support from supervisors or colleagues significantly increase vulnerability to stress. Workplace climate, understood as the set of perceptions employees hold regarding the organizational environment, leadership styles, internal communication, and interpersonal relationships, plays a key role in defining overall well-being at work. A negative climate generates tensions, conflicts, and dissatisfaction, whereas a positive climate fosters motivation, cohesion, and reduced stress, contributing to a more satisfying work experience. This study followed a quantitative approach, which enabled an objective description of both workplace climate and stress levels among employees of the company Alutions 1. A correlational design was used to determine the relationship between the two variables, supported by statistical techniques that facilitated data interpretation and the identification of relevant patterns.
