Mental health in the workplace has gained great relevance due to its impact on the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of workers. Nowadays, companies face challenges in managing their employees' mental health, as issues such as stress, anxiety, and workplace harassment affect both performance and job stability. In the Colombian Caribbean region, these factors have increased due to various circumstances, leading to a rise in conditions such as hypertension, digestive disorders, and sleep problems caused by stress, often exacerbated by excessive workloads. Mental health in the workplace has become increasingly important due to its impact on both workers' well-being and business productivity. Historically, perceptions of mental health have evolved, shifting from social isolation approaches in past centuries to a more comprehensive perspective that acknowledges the importance of healthy work environments. Factors such as work pressure, harassment, and excessive workloads can significantly affect employees' mental health, leading to consequences such as stress, anxiety, and burnout syndrome. This essay is based on the premise that the work environment and excessive workload are the main factors affecting employees' mental health. A hostile work environment, characterized by workplace harassment and a lack of support measures, can have a negative impact both on an individual's health and on a company's productivity. In this regard, the research focuses on identifying the strategies that organizations have implemented to mitigate this problem and analyzing the role of government entities in protecting workers. The objective is not only to identify existing issues but also to explore possible solutions to promote healthier work environments where employees' physical, mental, and social well-being is ensured. This includes fostering a workspace where workers feel safe, valued, and motivated, characterized by positive workplace relationships that contribute to a healthy life balance. The focus is on implementing strategies to prevent mental health issues caused by stress or any other factor that undermines individuals' well-being and vitality.
