los símbolos y la realidad de la comunidad Afro en San Basilio de Palenque;
This research is of vital importance to understand and value the cultural wealth of this community. Afro-descendant resilience in the face of exclusion and discrimination, the preservation of their ancestral traditions, their unique cultural identity and the oral transmission of their history are transcendental aspects that deserve to be studied and protected. These analyzes help to make visible and identify the importance of these communities, and to promote their recognition and appreciation in society in general. It could be said that the conservation of the oral traditions and cultural identity of this community have been fundamental to maintaining the capacity for resistance and adaptation over time. Furthermore, strengthening Afro cultural identity contributes to their emotional and social wellbeing, as well as their ability to face challenges and preserve their cultural heritage in a constantly changing and globalized world. These mechanisms play a fundamental role in community life in San Basilio de Palenque, they are not only tools for the survival of their culture, but also to strengthen the sense of belonging and social cohesion within the population. This research was carried out from a qualitative approach since the analysis carried out goes from the particular to the general, where the symbols and reality of the Afro community in San Basilio de Palenque are interpreted; using the Historical Hermeneutic paradigm, so the subject-subject relationship exists and the points of view of others are valued; in turn, ethnographic in nature, which allows us to understand and document the cultural practices, traditions, beliefs and challenges faced by the community; and descriptive in scope, in that it described whether the cultural practices, stories and traditions transmitted through generations have contributed to the capacity for resistance and adaptation of this community in the face of adversity. Older adults specifically play a crucial role in transmitting knowledge and values to younger generations, thus ensuring the continuity and recognition of the cultural heritage of San Basilio de Palenque. Furthermore, the active participation of children and adolescents (NNA) in cultural processes not only guarantees the continuity of traditions, but also fosters a sense of pride, self-esteem and ownership in Palenque youth. The cultural resilience of San Basilio de Palenque is a testament to the community's power to resist and adapt to external challenges, thus preserving its unique identity and symbolism for future generations. It is of great relevance, social and academic pertinence to carry out studies about this line since it aims to generate critical reflection about all the processes of preservation of culture, lifestyles and self-recognition. On the other hand, it is essential to recognize and value the constant struggle of this community to preserve their ancestral legacy despite the historical and social adversities they have faced. Education and inclusion are key aspects that must be addressed to promote a more just and egalitarian society. It is significant to continue investigating and making these realities visible to contribute to the recognition and appreciation of AfroColombian culture.
