A global trend is observed daily rise of chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCD). The high prevalence of these, mainly due to cardiovascular diseases are causing about 60% of deaths in the world and factors such as overweight, obesity and sedentary lifestyle which each day are increasing and are becoming health problems public can aggravate this situation. Cardiorespiratory fitness is an important indicator of health at all ages, and VO2 is the physiological marker of this, and their assessment allows us not only to establish a relationship with morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease but with the quality of life and mental health of subjects. Today cardiovascular diseases are part of the table proposed by the national government on occupational risks, however, there is little evidence of these diseases in the Colombian and null teachers regarding studies in the city Barranquilla.
