dc.description.abstract | Los cítricos, son un conjunto de frutas que se caracterizan principalmente por ser jugosas y aromáticas, en la industria agrícola representan una alternativa muy viable para realizar cultivos, debido a que su periodo productivo puede durar entre 30 y 40 años y pueden desarrollarse en un clima subtropical, adicionalmente la industria citrícola es un campo de gran interés debido a que su uso puede ir desde la fase primaria, siendo esta la venta de frutas (limones, naranjas, limas mandarinas, toronjas, entre otros) hasta una fase asociada a productos industriales derivados (jugos, néctares, concentrados, pulpas, mermeladas, aceites, entre otros), por esto los árboles de cítricos son los que tienen mayor demanda a nivel mundial y el comercio de estos favorece principalmente a aquellos países en donde las condiciones climáticas permiten el óptimo desarrollo de estos; aunque Colombia no se encuentra entre los principales países productores de cítricos, este cultivo frutal representa aproximadamente el 1% del PIB de todo el país y para el periodo 2018/19 alcanzo una producción anual de 101,5 millones de toneladas de frutas cítricas, entre las que la naranja figuro como la fruta de mayor producción. Existen una gran variedad de enfermedades que afectan a los cítricos, con diversos orígenes, ya sea viral, fúngico, bacteriano o simplemente enfermedades asociadas con parásitos, estas resultan ser de gran interés, debido a que su presencia en los cultivos se relaciona no solo con grandes pérdidas económicas sino también con grandes inversiones por parte de los productores para la búsqueda de alternativas de solución viables que no afecten la productividad y calidad de sus productos; una de las enfermedades de mayor importancia dentro de esta industria es el Huanglongbing (HLB) o enfermedad del enverdecimiento de los cítricos, esta es considerada a nivel mundial como la enfermedad mas amenazadora para la industria citrícola, se encuentra ampliamente distribuida por los 5 continentes e impacta en gran manera el rendimiento de los principales países productores. | spa |
