Resumen
En el municipio de Puerto Santander, ubicado en el departamento de Norte de Santander, las pérdidas económicas en el cultivo de arroz han sido acentuadas por la incidencia de la especie emberiza aureola, un ave migratoria que representa un grave problema para los agricultores de la región. Este ensayo desarrollo como propósito analizar cómo la presencia de estas aves afecta la productividad del cultivo de arroz, causando pérdidas económicas significativas. La metodología empleada se desarrolló paradigma interpretativo con enfoque cualitativo de tipo documental donde se identificó como resultados, la falta de estrategias de manejo efectivas para mitigar la presencia de esta especie, lo que ha generado dependencia en el uso de técnicas poco sostenibles que no siempre son eficientes y, en algunos casos, dañan el ecosistema local. El presente ensayo sugiere la adopción de técnicas de manejo integrado de plagas y la exploración de alternativas que minimicen el impacto económico de estas aves en la agricultura, protegiendo al mismo tiempo la biodiversidad del área. Con estas medidas, se busca reducir las pérdidas económicas en el sector arrocero de Puerto Santander de manera sostenible.
In the municipality of Puerto Santander, located in the department of Norte de Santander, economic losses in rice cultivation have been accentuated by the incidence of the emberiza aureola species, a migratory bird that represents a serious problem for farmers in the region. The purpose of this essay was to analyze how the presence of these birds affects the productivity of rice cultivation, causing significant economic losses. The methodology used was an interpretative paradigm developed with a qualitative documentary-type approach where the results were identified as the lack of effective management strategies to mitigate the presence of this species, which has generated dependence on the use of unsustainable techniques that are not always efficient and, in some cases, harm the local ecosystem. This essay suggests the adoption of integrated pest management techniques and the exploration of alternatives that minimize the economic impact of these birds on agriculture, while protecting the biodiversity of the area. With these measures, the aim is to reduce economic losses in the rice sector of Puerto Santander in a sustainable manner.
