064; ECVI=5.49; GFI=.77; NCP=2257.42; PNFI=.82;
PGFI=.71 y NNFI=.90).
Objective: Establish the psychometric properties of the COPE Coping Estimation Inventory for psychological intervention in Colombian adolescents. Methods: The version of the scale translated into Spanish of 52 items was applied to a sample of 503 adolescents between 13 and 18 years old (15.52 ± 1.21), of whom 288 were women and 215 men 230 patients. To analyze the factorial structure, a confirmatory factor analysis was performed with the maximum likelihood estimation method. Results: The confirmatory factor analysis showed a satisfactory level of adjustment to the theoretical model proposed of thirteen factors and a second order factor (χ2 / gl = 3.02, RMSEA = .064, ECVI = 5.49, GFI = .77, NCP = 2257.42, PNFI = .82; PGFI = .71 and NNFI = .90). The internal consistency of the global scale, measured with Cronbach’s alpha, was 903 and the values of the subscales ranged between .397 and .807. The analyzes to establish the concurrent validity showed significant correlations between the dimensions of the COPE and constructs linked to the scale. Conclusion: The evidence suggests that the COPE inventory is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing coping in Colombian adolescents.
