Resumen
Objetivo: El presente estudio buscó analizar las estrategias de afrontamiento presentes
en familiares de pacientes con cáncer de mama según la estructura y funcionalidad
familiar.
Método: El estudio se realizó bajo un enfoque mixto con preponderancia cualitativa con
diseño no experimental y de alcance descriptivo.
Resultados: Se encontró que el apoyo emocional es un componente muy importante para
las familias y se constituye como un factor protector ante la enfermedad de cáncer de
mama.
Conclusión: Las estrategias de afrontamiento tienen una connotación activa centrada en
el problema forzándolos a la búsqueda de soluciones múltiples y potencializando los
recursos que poseen las personas para hacer frente a la enfermedad.
Objective: The present study sought to analyze the coping strategies present in relatives of patients with breast cancer according to family structure and functionality. Method: The study was conducted under a mixed approach with qualitative preponderance with non-experimental design and descriptive scope. Results: It was found that emotional support is a very important component for families and constitutes a protective factor against breast cancer disease. Conclusion: Coping strategies have an active connotation focused on the problem, forcing them to search for multiple solutions and potentiating the resources that people have to cope with the disease.
