En el estudio se desarrollo en el CENTRO MEDICO HORIZONTE DEL BARRIO CARRIZAL de la ciudad de Barranquilla, el tipo de estudio fue descriptivo de corte transversal la población fue de 720 pacientes, la muestra fue un procedimiento aleatorio simple y estuvo constituida por 144 pacientes el proyecto se ejecuto a través de la encuesta, esta estuvo estructurada por preguntas cerradas y abiertas la cual consto de 10 ítems. El análisis de la información se hizo mediante la síntesis de todas las unidades representadas en tablas y gráficos entre sus principales conclusiones la edad mas prevalente fue de 25 a 29 años con un porcentaje de 12% y con más predominio en el sexo femenino en un 26%.This research will use quantitative methodology raises the risk factors associated with irritable bowel syndrome in patients aged between 20 and 45 years or more.
