En un primer momento se presenta una aproximación al término, se delimita su abordaje al contexto colombiano y se exponen algunos diagnósticos que organismos internacionales, como Transparencia Internacional, han concluido sobre la realidad país. Seguidamente, se presentan siete estrategias susceptibles de aplicarse en Colombia y que toman como referencia la idiosincrasia y la normativa existente. Finalmente, la conclusión invita a recordar que las causas y estrategia para combatir la corrupción deben ser integrales, deben involucrar a los distintos agentes del sistema político y deben ser capaces de anticiparse a un escenario hostil, adverso y cambiante.As an object of study, corruption continues to be a discussion among scholars of democracy and political science. Is it an institution inherent to human relations and, therefore, fighting corruption is a losing battle? Or, on the contrary, is it an institution that requires a cultural adaptation to combat it? Taking March and Olsen as references, corruption is presented as an informal institution marked by practices of exchange of favors, where a position of privilege is used as a bargaining chip to achieve personal benefit and to reduce uncertainties. Although it is recognized that there are societies where these practices seem more deeply rooted, it is argued that it is possible to combat it by eliminating the stimuli and raising the personal costs of incurring them.
