Objetivo: Analizar la relación entre la presencia y/o ausencia de mitos sobre el amor y celos románticos en jóvenes y adultos colombianos. Método: 1004 jóvenes y adultos colombianos entre 18 y 45 años hicieron parte de este estudio, 65.7% mujeres y 34.3% hombres, la edad media fue de 24.65 años (SD=5.45). La escala interpersonal de celos (Martínez-León, 2017) y la escala de mitos sobre el amor (Bonilla y Rivas, 2018) fueron aplicadas. Resultados: 38.6% reconocen y conciben los mitos sobre la idealización del amor como reales, 26% (n=261) aceptan los mitos sobre la vinculación amor-maltrato. Los mitos de idealización del amor se correlacionaron positivamente de forma bilateral con los celos románticos (r = 0.19, p < 0.01) y los mitos de vinculación amor-maltrato con los celos románticos (r = 0.22, p < 0.01). Conclusiones: la presencia de estos mitos se correlacionan junto a los celos románticosBackground: Romantic relationships are part of the development of the life cycle of human beings, however, there are beliefs about what should be expected within this type of relationship. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the presence and / or absence of myths about love and romantic jealousy in Colombian youth and adults.
