This research examined the relationship between entrepreneurial skills and the performance of businesses financed by SENA's Emprender Fund in Cúcuta between 2022 and 2024. The study was developed under a quantitative approach of descriptive type with a non-experimental and correlational design to measure and compare the results of 34 beneficiary entrepreneurs selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. A questionnaire with a Likert scale was applied for the collection of information, which was complemented with the analysis of institutional records on performance indicators during the start-up stage of the business units. The results show outstanding strengths in personal and strategic skills, such as resilience and the identification of opportunities that they develop in response to the socioeconomic conditions of the region. However, the lowest scores were in managerial competencies, especially in financial planning and administrative control, considered key areas for business success. The statistical analysis confirmed a significant but weak relationship between management and planning skills and the achievement of sales goals. Based on these findings, a strategic plan was proposed to strengthen entrepreneurial skills, aimed at improving the impact of financing and consolidating a more sustainable and competitive business fabric in Cúcuta. It is recommended to carry out similar studies with larger samples at the national level to confirm possible associations between the variables analyzed.
