This study examines the changes that businesses in the Metropolitan Locality of Barranquilla have experienced in the way they accept payments between 2020 and 2025. At present, customers have different options for making payments, including cash, bank transfers, digital wallets, and cards. These alternatives have led businesses to adopt different ways of receiving and handling money. The study seeks to analyze the relationship between the use of digital payment methods and the changes perceived in the use of cash. It also considers practical aspects related to receiving payments, such as ease of use, money management, and possible difficulties associated with costs, trust, or access to technology. The study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive and correlational scope and a non-experimental design. A brief survey will be administered to 30 businesses. The businesses surveyed included restaurants, retail stores, gyms, hardware businesses, and small variety shops. The results will be presented using frequencies and percentages. This information will be used to describe the businesses surveyed and to examine the relationship between the use of digital payment methods and perceptions regarding the use of cash.
