ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects 5% of the world's population; however, in Colombia, figures reach approximately 16% of the school-aged population. This disorder causes considerable impairment in social functioning, as well as difficulties in establishing reciprocal relationships and a greater tendency to experience social rejection compared to other children. Due to the repercussions of ADHD throughout a person's life cycle (personal, social, familial, and academic domains, among others), scientific interest in this disorder continues to grow. On the other hand, Theory of Mind (ToM) is a cognitive factor involved in social interaction that could explain the social deficits observed in individuals with ADHD.
