The crisis that was tackled during the SARS-Cov2 pandemic has generated a big impact in the mental health of many people, especially in young adults. Even though we have the data and the scientific information that increases constantly, a great percentage of this is focused on the genetic, pathologic, and epidemiologic aspects of the virus, but a very small proportion focuses on the possible effects it can have on mental health. Methods: It is a descriptive transversal study, applied to 498 students in a higher education facility. The tool used for data recollection was Google Forms and the instruments applied were the Generalized Anxiety Disorder assessment (GAD-7), the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHG-9) and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). Results: The results obtained with the use of the GAD-7 assessment reported that a 31% had mild anxiety, a 20% moderate anxiety and 11% severe anxiety. 38% of the students did not pose results of clinical importance. Conclusions: According to the evidence obtained it can be indicated that during the third phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, the presence of anxiety, insomnia and depression was common in students of 18 to 25 years of age from a private university.eng
